GameSalad Project - Block Breaker
While trying to set up a template for a Bejewelled clone someone on the GameSalad forum PM’d me with a suggestion on how to check for adjoining jewels quicker than using a table. I didn’t fully understand it, and it was limited to only checking the jewels 1 cell away I believe but it helped me find a similar approach which just so happened to turn into a block breaking type game.
As always it’s not a complete game but is a good starting point for you to improve on/re-write.
Enclosed in the zip file is a README.pdf which explains what the different game attributes are for and lists what’s missing from the template (not including the obvious like menus and scoring etc.). Almost all of the behaviours have been renamed with a descriptive title to explain what they’re doing and notes have also been added throughout the project.
I’m sharing it as it might prove useful to you and act as a good starting point for your own similar type game.
